Banks growth could be eroded as CBK imposes new licensing plan

Kenyan large banks are set to face a heavier regulatory burden following a Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) decision to regulate lenders based on their size. The CBK has issued guidelines imposing more scrutiny on lenders classified as Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs), due to the disruptions their collapse could create in the local economy and regional market.
