Baraza Mining 2026: Cameroon Faces the Challenge of Local Mineral Processing

The second edition of the Baraza Mining Forum, held on June 11, 2026 in Yaoundé, highlighted the challenge of local mineral transformation in Cameroon. The country has a mining project portfolio worth over $5.5 billion, but the sector's contribution to the national budget remains below 0.2%. Discussions focused on the legal framework, taxation, governance, and transparency needed to capture more added value.
