Basic Education Minister condemns false claims of matric English Paper 3 leak

South Africa’s Basic Education Minister, Siviwe Gwarube, condemned a fake social media post claiming that the National Senior Certificate English Paper 3 exam had been leaked. The department said the baseless claims were intended to disrupt the exams and prejudice more than 900,000 candidates. During a visit to Tembisa West Secondary School on Thursday, Gwarube said exam security measures were operating properly, with no leaks or irregularities reported across the provinces. Department spokesperson Lukhanyo Vangqa said the fake post would be referred to law enforcement for investigation and prosecution.
