Bayern expects Kompany’s recovery to take weeks, not days

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany remains in hospital in stable condition after collapsing at training on Friday with a virus. Sporting director Max Eberl said his recovery could take weeks, while assistant coach Aaron Danks will lead the team against Freiburg on Sunday. Germany captain Joshua Kimmich will also miss the match, which Bayern has not considered postponing. Bayern leads the Bundesliga by one point over Freiburg and next faces Atlético in Madrid in the Champions League on November 3.
