Before the UN in Geneva, the CNDH warns about the persistence of child labor in mines in DRC

The RDC National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) warned during the 63rd session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva about the presence of children in artisanal mining areas, especially in cassiterite in Manono. Its president, Paul Nsapu, called for stronger actions against poverty, lack of education, and control deficiencies, emphasizing that the fight against child labor must involve the entire mineral value chain. The CNDH states that exposing children to mining work violates international standards, including ILO Convention No. 182, and advocates for responsible mining that respects human rights.
