Benefits and pensions rise as two-child cap ends

As the new financial year begins, the two-child benefit cap has been scrapped, allowing around 480,000 families with three or more children to receive an average increase of £4,100 per year. Tracey Morris, a single mother of five, stated that this rise is a "massive help" in coping with the rising cost of living. Additionally, about three million families will receive an average increase of £120 this year for the basic universal credit allowance.
