Benfica say farewell to Mourinho as Real Madrid return nears

Benfica parted ways with coach Jose Mourinho on Tuesday, who is close to returning to Real Madrid. The Lisbon club said Real Madrid had formalised their intention to sign Mourinho for 15 million euros, corresponding to his release clause. Benfica also announced a two-year deal with Marco Silva, who left Fulham. Mourinho's return to Real Madrid was paved by the re-election of president Florentino Perez.
