Beni: Children's Parliament Worried About Economic Exploitation of Children

The Children's Parliament of Beni, through its president Georges Ngumairi, expressed concern about the economic exploitation of children in the North Kivu region, on the sidelines of the World Day Against Child Labour on June 12. Ngumairi emphasized that war and instability worsen the situation, with most exploited children being displaced or orphans, often from areas occupied by M23. He called on Congolese authorities to strengthen security to prevent children from wandering with goods on their heads, and urged parents to protect them by keeping them at home.
