Benin: 183 kg of counterfeit medicines seized in Parakou, three arrests

183.72 kilograms of counterfeit pharmaceutical products were seized in Parakou on September 24, 2026, during an operation by the 2nd arrondissement police station. Three individuals, including the alleged owner, a transporter, and an accomplice, were detained and placed in custody. The illicit goods, intended for illegal sale, were found in a residence in Banikani after surveillance. This is the largest seizure in the area since a similar operation in May 2025, which recovered 78 kg.
