Benin: Abomey-Calavi Sets 72 Hours to Clear the Godomey-Akassato Route

Occupants of the road areas along the Godomey-Akassato route in Abomey-Calavi have 72 hours to clear the spaces affected by the works, as stated in a communiqué from Mayor Nathanaël D. Koty. After this deadline, municipal services, supported by law enforcement, will proceed with the removal of remaining installations. These maintenance and development works, scheduled for 18 months, aim to improve traffic conditions over a 15.640-kilometer section. The project was approved by the government in November 2025 in response to the deteriorated state of the roadway.
