Benin: Former Cotonou Technical Services Director explains why he left

Sabi Gourgui Orou-Gani, former director of Technical Services at Cotonou City Hall, says he left for personal and professional reasons. His departure comes amid a series of changes at city hall, including the resignation of public procurement official Manet Floriana Gazard on October 8 for personal reasons.

The candidates—Abdulmajid Umar, Shaaban Sharada, Ishmael Sani, Ibrahim Bango and Nasir Ahmed—say they met party requirements and allege a protest was organised against them after the ruling. They say the actions undermine the NDC national leadership and the rule of law.
