Benin: From France, Patrice Talon announces a future law on religious associations

A law regulating religious associations will soon be voted in Benin, announced by Patrice Talon during a meeting in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine. A draft text is in preparation and is expected to be voted on by mid-2027, aiming to structure the life of cults and maintain public order. Talon emphasized that this legislation addresses global concerns regarding religious associations and mentioned the establishment of a committee to define the criteria for the Celestial Christian Church.
