Benin: Government Action Programme for 2026–2033 officially approved

Benin’s Council of Ministers approved the 2026–2033 Government Action Programme on November 4, 2026, under the name “Benin Further, Together.” Aligned with the Benin 2060 ALAFIA vision and the 2026–2035 National Development Plan, it aims to improve well-being, sustainably eradicate extreme poverty, broaden the productive base, and strengthen governance and security. The programme rests on six leading sectors: agriculture, industry, tourism, logistics, education and knowledge, and energy; it targets average real growth of 7.7% while keeping the budget deficit below 3% of GDP. Public funding is set to cover 45% of the programme, with the private sector contributing 55%.
