Owners of abandoned vehicles in Cotonou face a fine of 100,000 FCFA, in addition to towing and storage fees. Towing costs vary by vehicle category, ranging from 5,000 FCFA for a motorcycle to 150,000 FCFA for a truck over 10 tons. After 90 days of storage, the municipality may auction off vehicles whose owners are untraceable.
