Benin: Ouidah signs a twinning agreement with Cap-Haïtien

Ouidah and Cap-Haïtien signed a cooperation and twinning protocol on September 22, 2026, establishing a framework for collaboration between the two cities. This partnership aims to develop exchanges in areas such as culture, heritage, tourism, and education. The choice of these cities is also based on their shared history related to the transatlantic slave trade. This twinning is part of a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening relations between Benin and Haiti.
