Benin: Towards Exchange of Gas Cylinders Between Different Brands – La Nouvelle Tribune

Starting October 1, 2026, the prices for domestic gas remain set at 2,000 F CFA for the 3 kg bottle and 4,500 F CFA for the 6 kg bottle, following a meeting between the Minister of Internal Trade, Alimatou Shadiya Assouman, and gas operators. The reform also introduces the possibility for consumers to exchange an empty bottle for a full one of a different brand, once the system is implemented. Ultimately, all bottles will be standardized and managed by the Benin Petroleum Deposits Company (DPB SA), allowing for interchangeability across the country regardless of brand or location.
