Benin: What the Afrobarometer Study Reveals About Jobs in the GDIZ

An Afrobarometer study reveals that the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) created over 5,000 direct jobs for young Beninese between 2021 and 2025, with a projection of 35,000 jobs in the future. Despite this progress, 51% of Beninese aged 18 to 35 are unemployed. Young people prioritize job creation, with 40% wanting more public investment in this area. However, obstacles such as lack of training and experience hinder their access to employment.
