Benue pays N7.1bn compensation to property owners affected by federal road projects

The Benue State Government has spent about N7.1 billion on compensation for property owners and other interests affected by federal road projects across the state. Director of Civil Engineering, Engr. Tivfa Wombo, stated that N5 billion was paid for properties along the Makurdi-Enugu road dualisation project, approved by Governor Hyacinth Alia. An additional N1.3 billion was paid for interests around Wurukum, and N800 million was allocated for properties affected by the Buruku River bridge project.
