Benue State's Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Michael Oglegba, announced that the state has increased its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from ₦700 million to over ₦3 billion monthly under Governor Hyacinth Alia's administration. The target for 2026 is to achieve an annual IGR of ₦80 billion, which is an increase of over ₦50 billion from the current ₦30 billion. Oglegba attributed this growth to a new tax law expected to strengthen revenue generation in the state.
