France: 28-year-old man arrested in a mosque with bladed weapons

A 28-year-old man was arrested on November 1 after entering a mosque in Rodez with a dagger and a knife. Will Smith’s Former Friend Accuses Him of Backing Jada Pinkett Smith’s Threats

Bilaal Salaam, who describes himself as Will Smith’s best friend for nearly four decades, asked a U.S. court in August 2026 to add the actor as a co-defendant in his lawsuit against Jada Pinkett Smith. Salaam alleges that Will Smith backed his wife’s threats by telling him, “You heard what my wife said.” He claims Pinkett Smith threatened in September 2021 to make him disappear or shoot him if he kept talking about her, and that someone in her entourage warned he could be physically hurt. The lawsuit, filed in November 2025, seeks $3 million for harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress; Pinkett Smith denies the allegations and calls them false and uncorroborated.

The ruling marks another legal setback for Yaoundé and raises questions about who benefits from the state’s financial losses. The dispute dates back to a November 14, 2001, lease contract between the state and Projet Pilote Garoubé (PPG) for the operation of a ranch and agro-activities.
