Beyond the farm gate: Uganda eyes a place on East Africa’s coffee tourism trail

Uganda, despite being the largest coffee producer in East Africa, is looking to develop tourism around its coffee farms. At the Coffee and Cocoa Expo, the Uganda Tourism Board emphasized the need to create coffee-centered tourist experiences, inspired by countries like Ethiopia and Kenya. The country aims to increase its tourism earnings from $1 billion to $4 billion by 2029/30, with initiatives to offer farm tours and on-site accommodations.
