BFEM 2026: Nearly 196,000 Candidates Take Exams Across the Country

The 2026 Brevet de fin d'études moyennes (BFEM) exams started Tuesday, gathering 195,634 candidates across Senegal, an increase of 3,809 compared to 2025. Girls represent nearly 59% of registrants (114,891 vs 80,743 boys). The ministry opened 1,224 exam centers with over 13,000 invigilators and adapted test papers for visually impaired students. 7,823 candidates are taking the exam without civil status documents.
