Biafra agitation will continue under new identity - Group declares

A pro-Biafra group, Biafrans in Nigeria, declared it will not abandon its agitation for the creation of a separate Biafra state, insisting that the pursuit of self-determination remains a legitimate right. In a meeting in Onitsha, the group announced a name change and organizational restructuring, renouncing the name Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and adopting Biafrans in Nigeria. It emphasized that it will continue its objectives through legal means and political engagement, guided by a Council of Elders.
