Biafra: I'll free Nnamdi Kanu as president, no reason imprisoning him over insults - Peter Obi

The 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has pledged to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, if he becomes president of Nigeria. Addressing Nigerians in Washington, the former Anambra governor said the government has no reason to detain Kanu for his insults on Radio Biafra. Obi vowed to dialogue with all agitators if elected. Kanu is currently serving a life sentence at Sokoto Correctional Centre.
