Bignona: a 21-year-old student drowns in a branch of the Casamance River in Katoudié

Younousse Diémé, a 21-year-old student, drowned in a branch of the Casamance River in Katoudié after a reforestation session. While participants were returning to the village, a group of young people decided to swim, and Younousse sank without his friends being able to help. Despite the efforts of locals and firefighters, his body was only recovered the next day, marking a deep mourning for his family and community.
