Blackout hits parts of Abuja as TCN begins six-hour maintenance

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced a six-hour power outage in parts of Abuja on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. The outage is due to annual maintenance at its 132/33kV Katampe 1 Transmission Substation, scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Affected areas include Dawaki, Gwarinpa, Dutse Alhaji, and surrounding communities such as Kubwa and Suleja.
