Boehly and Walter sell Chelsea stake to Clearlake Capital

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly and director Mark Walter have sold their stakes in the club to Clearlake Capital, which now assumes full control. Boehly and Walter initially partnered with Clearlake to buy Chelsea for £2.5 billion in May 2022. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but reports suggest they could receive £950 million in cash. Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League last season and recently hired Xabi Alonso as their new manager.
