Boko Haram terrorists attack APC gov candidate's convoy in Borno

Suspected Boko Haram members attacked the convoy of Mustapha Gubio, the APC governorship candidate in Borno State, on September 4, 2026. The incident occurred on the Gubio-Karote-Damasak highway as Gubio was heading to Mobbar for a thank-you visit to party members. Despite the convoy coming under heavy fire from rockets and gunfire, security forces successfully repelled the attackers with no casualties reported.
