Bolsonaro beats expectations in Brazil vote, faces Lula in runoff

Brazil's tightly contested presidential election is heading to a runoff after incumbent Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and right-wing Senator Flavio Bolsonaro both fell short of the 50 percent needed to win outright. The election will now be decided in a second round between Lula and Bolsonaro. Al Jazeera’s Lucia Newman reports from São Paulo that Bolsonaro's performance exceeded expectations.
