Bolt, Nairobi County and NTSA Step Up Driver Safety and Compliance Efforts

Bolt, the Nairobi City County Government and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) held a safety and compliance session for motorbike and vehicle drivers on October 22. NTSA officials warned about speeding, distracted driving, unsafe lane-splitting and fatigue, while county officials explained transport, traffic and parking rules. Rescue.co demonstrated emergency assistance services, and Bolt presented in-app safety features including Emergency Assist and Trip Sharing. The initiative comes as Nairobi, Kiambu and Nakuru record the highest road-fatality totals in 2026, with NTSA reporting 15,472 road injuries nationwide in the first 10 months of the year.

SARGF executive director Sibongile Simelane-Quntana said distress reflects interconnected factors, including financial hardship, substance use, family strain and conditions such as anxiety and depression. The foundation stressed that the figures do not mean those identified attempted suicide or that gambling was the sole cause of their distress.
