The fourth edition of Nigeria’s 1xCup grassroots football tournament is nearing its conclusion, with four teams still competing for the title. Ezeji Ikenna of Ighalo FC leads the Golden Boot race with nine goals and two assists, while Collins Edwin SC forward Obiora Sunny has six goals and five assists and is a leading MVP contender. Collins Edwin SC has the tournament’s strongest defence, conceding only three goals in seven matches, and defender Ejiofor Morgan could also enter the MVP shortlist. Newhope Naija FC goalkeeper Ebitu Michael leads the Golden Glove race with four clean sheets, ahead of Collins Edwin SC’s Chidera Maduka.
