Borno NMA Moves Against Quacks, Inaugurates Committee

The Borno State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has inaugurated a committee to tackle people posing as medical doctors. Chapter chairman Dr Kaka Ghazali announced the move on Monday in Maiduguri, saying the committee will work with the Directorate of Medical Services and other stakeholders to identify unprofessional practices. Suspected cases will be referred to the relevant authorities for investigation and sanctions under the law. Ghazali warned that unqualified practitioners endanger lives and undermine public trust in the health system.
