Ivorian boxer Michel Soro (38) won the IBO middleweight world title by defeating Tanzanian Hassan Mwakunyo via referee stoppage in the 9th round on June 10, 2026 at the Parc des expositions in Abidjan. He becomes the first Ivorian to win an IBO title. On the same night, Kevin Lele Sadjo beat Abdul Ubaya on points, and Milan Prat defeated Amiri Rashidi Matumla. Former vice-world champion Séa Robinson congratulated Soro.
