Boy, 9, drowns at Kleinmond Lagoon

A 9-year-old boy drowned at Kleinmond Main Beach Lagoon on October 10, 2026. The NSRI Kleinmond responded after witnesses raised the alarm at 3:12 PM, and rescue efforts were made, but the child was declared dead after resuscitation attempts. His body was taken into police custody, and an inquest has been opened. The family is in police care.
