Court Sets January 27 for Judgment in Tukur Mamu’s Terrorism Trial

The Federal High Court in Abuja will deliver judgment on January 27, 2027, in Tukur Mohammed Mamu’s terrorism trial, in which he is accused of negotiating on behalf of terrorists. After final arguments, prosecutor David Kaswe urged the court to convict, while Mamu’s lawyer, Johnson Usman, sought an acquittal and challenged the prosecution’s handling of the licence for a rifle allegedly seized from Mamu’s home. Arrested in Cairo in September 2022, Mamu is also accused of steering the Abuja-Kaduna train attackers toward ransom negotiations with victims’ families for his personal financial benefit.
