BREAKING: Court nullifies Pantami’s ticket, orders fresh PDP guber primary in Gombe

A Federal High Court in Gombe has ordered the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to conduct a new primary election for its gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State. Justice Amina Aliyu Mohammed ruled on a suit filed by Usman Aliyu Garry, challenging the emergence of Prof. Isa Ali Pantami as the PDP candidate, claiming the required primary was not held. Pantami, a former APC gubernatorial aspirant who defected to PDP after the APC settled on Jamilu Gwamna, was declared the candidate through voice affirmation during the primary in May. The court mandated the PDP to follow its guidelines and electoral laws for the new primary.
