Breaking: Daba Mbodj alias “Gaindé Macky” placed under committal order

Daba Mbodj, an APR activist known as 'Gaindé Macky', was sentenced on Friday by the Dakar flagrant offenses court to one month in prison. She was charged with indecent speech and false accusation of an unnatural act against Ousmane Sonko, President of the National Assembly. Placed under a committal order on June 3, 2026, she contested the charges, claiming she was responding to insults on social media. The prosecutor had requested six months, but the court found her guilty and imposed a one-month sentence.
