Breaking: Nigeria’s inflation rate slows to 15.91 %

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of Nigeria reported that the headline inflation rate slowed to 15.91% in June from 15.93% in May. The food index rose to 17.52% in June from 16.96% in May 2026, driven by price increases in crayfish, fresh pepper, fresh tomatoes, and yam flour. On a month-on-month basis, headline inflation was 1.66%, down from 1.75% in May. Month-on-month food inflation rose to 3.75% from 2.98% the previous month.
