Breast Cancer: LISCA and Senegal Solidaire Bring Screening Closer to Women in Guédiawaye

The Senegalese League Against Cancer (LISCA) and the National Foundation Senegal Solidaire have launched a breast cancer screening center at Dalal Jamm Hospital in Guédiawaye, which is nearing completion, to reduce barriers related to cost, fear of diagnosis, and distance. LISCA will also hold free consultations at its headquarters starting October 1 as part of the October Rose 2026 campaign, inaugurated with the presence of First Lady Absa Faye and the Minister of Health. The campaign aims to promote early detection and equitable access to care, raising awareness among women throughout the month amid approximately 2,220 new cases and over 1,300 deaths annually in Senegal.
