'Brig.-Gen, 17 soldiers feared killed by Boko Haram in Borno'

Jihadists attacked a military base in Benisheikh, Nigeria, killing at least 18 soldiers, including Brigadier General O.O. Braimah. This attack comes as violence surges in the north of the country, with at least 90 people killed in several remote villages since Sunday. Nigeria has been fighting a jihadist insurgency for 17 years, following Boko Haram's uprising in 2009.
