Bullem takes over as Cross River PDP chairman

The PDP State Executive Committee in Cross River ratified Chief Francis Bullem as state chairman after accepting Venatius Ikem’s resignation. At its Thursday meeting in Calabar, the committee also pledged support for Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and the party’s national leader, and endorsed his Rainbow Coalition. It condemned attacks on PDP members and members of other opposition parties during lawful political activities, calling for them to operate without intimidation. Ikem resigned from the party on October 16, citing internal divisions and incoherent leadership.
