Burkina Faso, Benin: Unfulfilled Promises and a Heavy Bill for Matches in Argentina

Burkina Faso and Benin faced Argentina on October 3 and 6 in friendly matches, but these trips to South America were challenging and unprofitable for the federations. Burkina Faso, represented only by U-23 players, was defeated 0-7, while Benin, with a more standard lineup, lost 0-3, with Lionel Messi scoring his last goal for Argentina during the match. These trips exposed logistical and financial difficulties, including Burkina Faso having to charter an emergency private flight.
