Burkina Faso: What the 25 billion FCFA Sports Megacomplex Plans

Burkina Faso launched the transformation of the National Training Sports Center (COMET) in Ouagadougou on September 22, 2026, with an investment of 25.211 billion FCFA. The project, expected to last fifteen months, includes accommodations for national teams, training facilities, an Olympic swimming pool, and football and tennis fields. Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo emphasized the importance of meeting deadlines and technical requirements. The COMET was established for the Africa Cup of Nations in 1998.
