Burkina: Government Announces Temporary Suspension of Two Muslim Associations – La Nouvelle Tribune

The Burkinabe government has suspended for three months the associations As Salam and the Coordination of Young Muslims of Burkina Faso (CJMB). As Salam is targeted for activities not conforming to its purpose, while CJMB is suspended for public order disturbances. The orders were signed by Minister of State Émile Zerbo on June 9, 2026. This decision is part of a policy of increased oversight of associations.
