Burkina: The State fines 17 transport companies for price increases

Burkina Faso has fined 17 road transport companies for raising their fares without authorization, with penalties reaching up to 26.25 million FCFA. The companies must revert to the prices applied before August 22, 2026, and pay the fines within 72 hours after August 31. This decision follows a rise in diesel prices, which increased from 675 to 750 FCFA per liter, thereby raising the operating costs for transporters.
