Burundi condemns harassment of its nationals in Kenya

Burundi has condemned the harassment of its nationals in Kenya following a directive by President William Ruto aimed at cracking down on undocumented foreigners engaged in petty trade. Foreign Minister Édouard Bizimana expressed concerns about the safety of Burundians in Kenya, while hundreds queued at their embassy in Nairobi for emergency travel documents. Kenya's Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing'oei apologized to affected Burundians for the misunderstanding caused by the directive.
