Butane gas: Several clandestine sites dismantled in Soubré, Lakota, and Divo

From May 5 to 7, 2026, the General Directorate of Hydrocarbons, supported by administrative authorities and security forces, conducted an operation against the illegal transfer of butane gas in Soubré, Lakota, and Divo. This intervention resulted in the seizure of nearly 1,500 gas bottles and the dismantling of several clandestine installations deemed dangerous. Authorities emphasized that these manipulations in unsafe conditions expose populations to risks of explosions, fires, and poisoning.
