King Charles has arrived in the Bahamas for a nine-day Caribbean tour, his first visit to the region as monarch. He is expected to address the colonial legacy and the effects of the slave trade, but will not apologise or offer reparations, in line with the UK government's position. His programme also includes a focus on climate change and the challenges facing low-lying Caribbean islands, as well as visits to places of remembrance. He will travel to Guyana and then Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, where Queen Camilla will join him.
