Kenyan government has approved the construction of three major roads, including a 400 km road linking Busia to Migori, to improve transportation across more than ten counties in Nyanza, Western, and Rift Valley regions. The projects include the 253 km South Rift-Lake Region Gateway Corridor, the 256 km Great Highlands Connectivity Corridor, and the 400 km Lake Victoria Ring Road. Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2026, funded by the World Bank, aiming to enhance market access, reduce transport costs, and shorten travel times for farmers and traders.
