CAF announces date for AFCON 2027, qualifiers

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 will kick off on Saturday, June 19, 2027, with the final scheduled for Saturday, July 17, 2027. The tournament, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, will be the first of its kind to be hosted by three nations. The qualification process will begin with a draw on May 19, 2026, involving 48 teams divided into 12 groups of four.
